I found one great YouTube video and one great article that I wish to share. The video puts economic inequality into perspective. Hint, it is much, much bigger than you will believe. I have been reading on economic inequality for years and every time I read the statistics I am baffled. How can so few own so much? And how can that be good for our economy? I believe it is not.
The great article I found is a well-argued defense of President Obama’s record. I think President Obama will go down in history as one of our great presidents, although you would not know it listening to the Republicans. I voted for President Obama twice and would be very happy to do so a third time. I like his pragmatic style. No he is not always right and I am sure he could have done some things better. But he tries to do what is right. He is reflective, he thinks, he does not rush into action, and most of all he is pragmatic. I think it is the pragmatic part that gets him into to trouble with both the right and the left. Most Americans, I think, prefer a pragmatic president, but the loudest Americans, the left and the right, do not. And those pragmatic Americans, who are not so politically involved, hear all that yelling and believe it. President Obama deserves better and he will receive a kind judgment from history.
The article is by Paul Krugman and is called In Defense of Obama
The video is called Wealth Inequality in America
